A new patient advocacy group launched with a brand and website built for its community

We built the identity, website, scientific illustrations, and copy for wAIHA Warriors, the first advocacy group for warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia.

The challenge

wAIHA Warriors was the first patient advocacy group for warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia. It had a name, and it needed a distinct brand that patients and caregivers would trust from the first day.

What we did

  1. 1.0

    Design the identity

We chose a shield for the symbol, because the group set out to be a safe place for its community. We tested the mark for legibility from 120 to 480 pixels.

  2. 2.0

    Build the website

We designed and built the launch website on its own design system, with clinical trial discovery, community sign-up, and mentor matching.

  3. 3.0

    Explain the science

We wrote the scientific copy and drew custom illustrations of the disease biology, from red blood cells to antibodies.

The outcome

Since its 2021 launch, wAIHA Warriors has won sponsorship from every pharmaceutical company working in the disease, 9 in total. It has grown its full-time staff and holds an annual in-person patient meeting.
