Trial Jazz
Every trial, a note.
Clinical trials as music. Each interventional study is a train that travels between its sites from start date to primary completion, and each kind of treatment is a line with its own instrument. Pick a condition and listen to a research field grow over 25 years.

Rare Disease Research Garden
Every voucher, a flower.
The FDA's Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher program, drawn as a garden. Each voucher awarded since 2014 is a petal, grouped by year and by therapeutic area, and each sale between sponsors is traced with its price. We built it to support the campaign to renew the program.

Journey Maps
Two patients, from first symptoms to a clinical trial.
An isometric map of the places a patient passes through on the way to a diagnosis, treatment and a trial. Follow Donna, who lives in a small town in the rural West, or Carol, who lives in a suburb on a commuter rail line. Each stop opens on the rooms where it happens, with how many people in online patient communities describe that moment.

Living and Working With It
One hundred people, five questions.
A survey of young professionals living with chronic conditions, shown as a networking event in a pixel-art conference room. Each guest is one respondent. Step through the questions and the room regroups into conversations by answer, while a chart beside it shows the same people by age. Pick anyone to meet them.
